GMDA says Dwarka Expressway service roads are 70% done, eyes September finish
6 June 2026 · Infrastructure
The service roads that residents of the expressway sectors have long asked for are moving forward. GMDA said about 70% of the work was complete, with a September 2026 target for opening.
The project covers about 27 km of two-lane, 7.5-metre-wide service roads on both sides of the expressway at an estimated cost of Rs 99 crore. Around 16.5 km of drains had been built, and RCC box drains were being laid to tackle waterlogging. The work started in March 2024.
Because the main carriageway is access-controlled under NHAI, these roads carry local trips between sectors and manage entry and exit points. Officials said land acquisition was still pending at a few spots.
What it means for buyers: daily convenience in sectors along the corridor depends heavily on these service roads. Before buying, check whether the stretch outside your project is finished and drained, rather than going only by the overall percentage.
