NHAI bars two- and three-wheelers from Dwarka Expressway main carriageway
14 March 2024 · Policy
Days after the Haryana section opened, NHAI barred non-motorised vehicles, two-wheelers and three-wheelers from the main expressway, citing the risk of mixing slow vehicles with high-speed traffic.
These vehicles were directed to the service lanes on both sides. NHAI also placed marshals at major junctions and entry and exit points, added road markings and signs, and deployed CCTV, patrol vehicles and ambulances along the route.
The ministry asked drivers to keep to their lanes, follow speed limits and avoid driving the wrong way.
What it means for buyers: if anyone in your household commutes by scooter, motorbike or auto, the expressway itself is off-limits to them. Their route will depend on the service roads and sector roads, so check that those are complete near the project you are considering.
