Union Cabinet approves Gurugram metro with 1.85 km spur to Dwarka Expressway
7 June 2023 · Metro
The Union Cabinet cleared a 28.50 km metro corridor for Gurugram, linking HUDA City Centre with Cyber City. The plan includes a spur to Dwarka Expressway.
The main line is 26.65 km long, running via Subhash Chowk, Hero Honda Chowk and Palam Vihar. The spur from Basai village to Dwarka Expressway is 1.85 km, and there are 27 stations in all. The fully elevated line was estimated at about Rs 5,450 crore.
A 50:50 joint venture of the Centre and Haryana was to carry it out, with a four-year timeline from sanction. Local leaders welcomed it, noting the metro had stopped at HUDA City Centre for about a decade.
What it means for buyers: this approval is where the metro story along the corridor officially begins. The timeline has since slipped, so treat metro access as something that will come later, not a near-term benefit.
